Shohreh's Background
Shohreh Fontaine was born is Tehran, Iran. Shohreh left Iran during the height of Iran's revolution and the fall of the Shah. She returned to Iran a year later, only to be faced by the Iraq's attack on Iran. Shohreh came back to the United States, earned her American citizenship, and attend the University of Texas. She graduated with a degree in engineering. Shohreh had a long career in the aerospace industry, including over a decade working with the Federal Aviation Administration. Shohreh lives in Palm Coast with her husband.

Qualifications

Shohreh earned her university degree at the University of Texas while raising her family, Shohreh understands how to work hard to accomplish important things, as well as how to successfully manage competing and equal important priorities. Shohreh also holds a Master of Arts degree in Christian Theology from Bakke Graduate University in Seattle.
Shohreh worked in the aerospace industry and government for much of her career – both in the private sector and at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). At the FAA, Shohreh experienced firsthand the operation of the federal government, and its role in serving the public interest. Shohreh areas of expertise includes safety, regulatory compliance and oversight, rulemaking, and standardization.
Shohreh is running for public office for the first time. She is an ordinary citizen who wants to work tirelessly in Washington to improve the lives of the citizens of the 6th Congressional District. Shohreh is not a career politician, but she believes that those closest to the issues have the best answers, and this is what separates her from other Congressional candidates. Shohreh lived through political upheaval and chaos in Iran in 1979, well as the long war between Iran and Iraq in the 1980s. Through these life changing experiences, Shohreh learned how to navigate adversity and persevere.
Shohreh lives in Palm Coast with her husband. Their five children live up and down the East Coast of the United States, including one in Central Florida. Shohreh has been involved in local community activities as an active member of the Flagler County Commissioners’ Community Traffic Safety Committee.
